Bachelor of Forestry Science

Introduction

The Bachelor of Forestry Science (BFS) is one of the three academic programmes at the undergraduate level offered at the Faculty of Forestry, Universiti Putra Malaysia since 1973. The objective of the BFS programme is to produce graduates who are professionally trained and capable of planning,managing,implementing as well as assessing forest resources and activities in the forestry sector. Graduate will be equipped with the knowledge and skills to efficiently manage forest resources based on sustainable forest management and use of current technology in the forestry sector.

Programme and Courses

The BFS programme was restructured in 2010 with the aim of producing graduates who are capable of adapting to the current global work environment. The programme duration is 4 years (or 8 semesters). Students will follow core courses and three elective options, namely Forest Management, Forest Products and Forest Recreation. The total minimum credit required to graduate is 138.
